The game pays well all sounds and controls work. The problem is that the girders stay solid but the moving images get black vertical lines in them and sometimes disappear. As you play, the hammers may disappear or the silver barrel will become a blue and white mario or all the barrels and Mario and donkey kong will disappear. Could be a power supply issue? Bad chip? Bad board? I am new to the hobby and appreciate any help I can get.

It is possible that it's a power supply issue. Are you using a Nintendo power supply or a switching power supply?

gonna nitpick, the Nintendo one is actually a switcher too (someone completely chastised me for that in the past :p) but I know what you're saying.

my 4-board stack ran horrible with a regular switcher though, it was the chief reason I replaced the wiring harness to drop a 2-board in and use a Nintendo PSU instead. just saying, in case OP does have a non-Nintendo unit.

Thanks

Thanks for the responses. Turned it on yesterday, no problems perfect picture played great. After about 20 minutes, random characters appeared on the screen and things started to flicker and fade again. It has the original power supply. Worth trying a new power supply? If not, can I get the board repaired or just post a wtb donkey kong board set?

Dk working

Installed dkII kit which has diagnostic at boot. Told me that r6 ram was bad. Klover told me it is on videoboard. I reseated it and has been straight ever since. Dockert was right was a board issue. thank you for all the help.
