I am having some issues with the sound on my Donkey Kong machine (I have a 4 board machine)

About a week ago the sound went out entirely on the machine so I popped off the the 8035 Music chip and the 2 Digital Sound 2716 chips next to it (all on the sound board)

Music and Digital sounds worked, when I restarted the machine just the digital sound worked, and then after I turned on the machine again no sound and I could not get it to play sound again.

I just replaced the 8035 chip today and the same thing happened (Music + digital sound then just digital sound and no nothing)

Does anyone have any ideas what the issue could be?

While the machine was on i was just moving the sound board and the digital sounds came back but still no music or credit noise. Not sure if this is a problem with the sound board or a chip on the CPU board

Thanks for the advice about looking at the voltage...i checked the connection to the power supply and it was extremely loose. After some light wiggling both the music and sounds are back so it looks like I will have to looks like maybe the connection is broken.

I will update the thread as I go
