Donkey Kong "siren" problem (not the nintendo hum!)....

With the new @HighScoreSaves DK Multi coming out soon, I figured I would raise this one from the dead and see if anyone ever fully figured out how to cure the siren...

I think 5L is responsible for the sound Decay. There are also caps and resistors in that circuit (c26, c30, r35, r38, r47, r48, etc).
It's been a long time since I worked on my board with this issue (nov 2018), so that's my best recollection, but I'd start there.

I've found a bit of info online, including this thread, about the infamous DK siren sound that seems to always follow re-capping the audio amp board. One thing that I have notably not seen is any report of folks installing a switching power supply, as part of their effort to solve the siren. Has anyone seen reports of that?

My test bench is switcher on jamma and the siren sound is still there (obviously using Nintendo jamma adapter) so I'd say that it's not a solution.
