My Donkey Kong Junior doesn't have a service switch. What exactly did the service switch do? I did Google this (honestly), but couldn't find an answer.

This isn't one of my top priority items or anything, but where would I acquire one of these service switches. The only place I found was Quarter Arcade, but theirs came with coin door wiring harness, coin counter, and service switch. I don't need all of this.

As always, thanks in advance.

They're on all Nintendo machines, even R-Type. It puts a credit on the machine with the DK series. On Popeye, supposedly if you hold it in while powering it up, it will bring you to a test screen. On Mario Bros, it does bring you to a very detailed test menu where you can set free play, do monitor tests, etc.

Also, when the service button puts the credit on, it doesn't increment the coin meter (not that it really matters, but figured I'd mention it for completeness :) )
