so I purchaesed the dreaded untested Donkey Kong board -- power it up of course no dice --ramdon junk onnscreen and a little noise on power up

characters on screen seem to be agood sign --thought I check sum the roms

so I pull down a mame copy -- none seem to match my set

there are 5X chips but no 7X or 3X

2 of of 5X chips fail cksum -- but where to get the other roms to validate

alos my CPU is a TGK4-14, but the video is a TKG4-12 -- IS that even rigth should they both match?

Anyway where can I get some good dumps to cksum the rest of these chips?

my chip numbers (at leats for the ones that had lables) vs the 5X I found in US set 1 dkong.zip mame set
5A - good
TKG4-C 5Bt -fail
5C - good
5E - fail

where are these?
3F
TGK2-V3HC
3N
3P

TKG4-V7Ct
7D

MAME often name the ROM images illogically, it can get confusing. Make sure the dkong.zip files you have match those on MAWS.

TGK4-14 and TKG4-12 is normal for the 2 board set.

The D.K. 2-bd sets came in TKG4-11,12,13 & 14, any of the video boards will work with any of the other cpu boards, the TKG2 roms are from a 4-bd set, the 7C,D,E,F are the character roms on the video board, the 5A,B,C,E are the program roms.

If you are looking through the MAME ROM sets, they labeled some of them all screwy ..... took me awhile to figure them out too. So like ROM 7C would be the l_4m_b.bin file found in the ROM sets, etc, etc.

I could send you a zip of the set I have already relabeled if you send me an e-mail.

Thanks -- got a good set of roms now -- many were whacked -- I let them run for an hour checked them still good -- board still don't work though. I leave out the 2 or 3 hours I spent burn chip after chip until I relaized these are 2532 NOT 2732's!!! reburnt the origeninal chipos and not its looks something like the game -- instead of random trash

I see something that looks like hi score and player along with a donkey kong and a barrel -- most of the screen is full of H's and I think it resets -- but maybe that just what its supposed to do

Any ideas? am I on to RAM now?

I'll post some pic's tomorrow for anyDK gurus that might be able to pass me some tips -- my guess is ram and video ram first but I don't wanna go ripping off those chips if there is something else to try
