I recently got a DK cab, and this is has a good bit of rust under the monitor bezel. I have searched through google to find someone who has done a restoration that had some tips on rust, but came up dry. Anyone willing to share tips on what to replace to get rid of rust? I have a few cabs that I bought at once, and this is going to be one of the possibly easiest, as it shows signs of live and other than rust, is in pretty good shape. Thanks for any hints.

"under the monitor bezel" Is it on the bezel lift bar? If so remove it and get another. What metal in that area is rusting?

CLR is your friend for removing rust. I use it a lot and it works great. That and a good wire brush. It'll take some physical work, but it'll come off.

It's on the OUTSIDE of the cab. Where moisture ran down the front of the unit. A wire brush is going to cause it to disintegrate, and I think pretty much anything else on the right side as far as cleaning it is going to cause it to flake apart the rest of the way. It's the metal piece that is in front of the plexi art bezel in front of the monitor. I have yet to take anything aprat, and I don't even know what part that is, or what it would be called to get another replacement. (Which is probably the only option). Thanks al for the replies so far.

I have NO idea what you're talking about. I'm sure many here are in the same boat.
Pictures are worth a thousand words; please post a picture of the problem area(s) so we can give you a better idea how to fix.
