So in January I happened across a Donkey Kong cabinet on Facebook, after haggling I managed to get it delivered for $260. It was a birthday gift for myself as well as my first arcade cabinet.
Didn't get much of a history on this machine outside of the fact that it was bought out of a storage locker auction and then sat in a garage. Anyways, here are a bunch of the initial pictures I took.

Missing metal piece that holds bezel and marquee in they stuck a sheet metal screw to hold it in place.

No sooner do I get this in the garage when I drop a screwdriver while removing the marquee lands right on DK.

Someone tried prying open coin door and I assumed they drilled the locks, which is a shame because I found original key sitting in the hand hold on the back. Now I'm going to have to cough up for a lock, because I want an original. Kinda hoping to find one at the Midwest Gaming Classic. Also missing the coin catch.

Some nice guy carved a choice word into the side of the machine. I was on the fence on full cabinet refinish but this was kind of the deciding factor. I'm leaning towards linoleum because between the time and money I'd spend to paint it, I might have wells as just do lino.

Cigarette burns around the buttons I might try buffing that out. Also some pretty bad warping on the control panel from many rested cigarettes. I may try a heat gun to flatten it out unless anyone else has a solution.

some of that sweet, sweet screen burn.

The interior is filled with those little tree propellers. Also you can probably see it but power cable is pretty badly frayed.
Next post will most likely included photos of it in operation (more or less) as received it.
