I recently picked up a DK cab that had been converted to golden axe at some point in the past. The cab wouldn't power up, so I started with the AC plug working my way toward the power block in the cab. My goal here is mainly to get what I can working in the cab before ripping out golden axe and putting DK back in.

Replaced the power plug (it was missing the ground terminal and looked pretty nasty). Tested continuity from the new plug through to the terminal block in the cab. 120V running through fine. Flipped on the power and now the golden axe board's led light comes on. The EZ20 came on as well, but only is showing a VERY dim pink. When I power off, it flashes a white box that shrinks down to a corner of the tube. No sound or anything recognizable showing golden axe.

So, I continue to test for voltages through the system to at least rule out any issues there. I tested voltage at the primary terminal block in the cab and get 119.6V. I test on the other end of the power transformer in the outlet where the marquee, power supply, and EZ20 plug in where I get 118.2V. Downstepped 1.4V through the transformer? Doesn't the EZ20 require only 100V? Having never worked on a nintendo cab I know now that the power system in it is far from original. I cleaned off the power transformer and it reads as it should be giving 110V as output (it is reading output of 118.2V with my DMM). At this point I'm scratching my head a bit. I would think it is just a bad power transformer, but even at 110V, how was this thing ever working with the EZ20 tube?

What is the usual outcome of an EZ20 being plugged into an outlet with this voltage? I'm not at all familiar with Nintendo cabs so any advice would be much appreciated. I attached a pic as well.

Sanyo monitors do indeed use 100v.
118.2v is definitely too high.
The marquee fixture,if original,also uses 100v.
The monitor chassis most likely will need repair now.
You can get a 100v iso and use the switcher and a jamma harness with adapter to run DK.
110V would be acceptable for a Sanyo monitor.
My original DK iso puts out about that much.

Are there any good places to look when hunting down a 100v isolation transformer? Hopefully the chassis didn't get smoked. If it did it looks like I'll be having some fun there as well.

Either Bob roberts, quarter arcade, mikes arcade, twisted quarter or arcade shop should have one.
Quarter arcade has an original DK iso with the plug for the monitor and marquee.
