The Donkey Kong machine that I'm restoring had five bolts on each side. I took out the three that aren't used...so I can fill them in. Has anyone found flat headed bolts that won't disturb the side art? My contol panel is also missing one bolt - anyone know where I can find a replacement?

Thanks!

Mikes arcade has the CPO small bolts.

This is a question that has been debated throughout history. Most will say to leave all five bolts and put them through the sideart as that is the way it was done in the day. Personally, I fill in the extra holes, but I do mount the bolts through the sideart.

The early DK's only had 2 bolts on each side.
Late in the run they added the extra holes for monitor rotating.
Why have the extra bolts if they are not needed? I would just fill them.

If you look at Camo Murph's spreadsheet you'll see it's really tough to say. There are DKs out there with only two holes, but there are definately ones out there that appear to come from the factory with five drilled. If you ever plan on turning the monitor horizontal in the future, I would leave them. Mine has 5 holes but the sideart covers all but the two for the vertical monitor mounts. With the sideart covering the extra holes you'd never know they are there. I guess there is a possibility someone could poke a hole through the sideart but I doubt it.
