Has anyone done this? My PS is pretty much dead - probably needs a rebuild/recap kit. Has anyone else run the conversion kit from arcadeshop? I'm preparing to order it.

Why exactly do you need a "kit"? It's a power supply. Just swap it out with another power supply. Or, fix the old one. Just match up the voltages. You can ignore the 24v line, that's only for the coin counter.

Yes that's the one I was referring to. Just wondered if anyone else had tried this or if there were any pitfalls in doing so.
I don't think there is a DK PS repair/rebuild kit persay. At least I didn't find any. I was thinking I'd have to replace all the caps first to see what results I had and then order components on from there. And I didn't want to get in some long drawn out repair before I even got to problems with the PCB, Monitor, etc when there's a brand new switcher for $15.00 over what is being sold that's 30 years old and probably needs work itself or will shortly thereafter.

I would get one of these if you want to put a switcher in there.
It is plug and play.
If not then another gold power supply is going to cost probably around $30 + shipping.

Although I have not run the arcade shop "fancy" switcher with the board for the connectors, I have run the same PS with the wires just connected directly to the lugs on the PS without the connectors. It worked fine with the 2 board PCB. Watch out though if you have a 4 board PCB set, smoke, smoke, smoke.

I've got the 2 board set. But no idea if it works or not. So I'll cross that bridge when I get some good power where it's supposed to go.
