I was playing Space Invaders which is next to my Donkey Kong. I looked over at Donkey Kong and the picture was inverted and the colors were all wrong. I shut it off and turned it back on and it didn't do it again.

Does that sound like the video inverter board is going out? I also have a high score save kit installed.

Is that on the inverter board or game board or both?

What monitor do you have in it? If it's a Sanyo/Sharp Nintendo monitor, it doesn't use an inverter, and if you are using on anyway (hooked up to Non-Invert on the inverter) then just move the video cable directly to the chassis to see if the inverter board is the issue.

If it's a different type of monitor using an inverter board, then it could be the inverter. There's a power connector on it, and if it's not getting power it might not work...

Okay. It's the 20EZ and it is passing through the inverter board that rests on top of the HV cage. I believe it bypasses the inverter. I will remove it from the circuit and see what happens.

Okay. I moved this monitor over to my SMB cabinet. What is causing this?

I recapped the monitor and the colors are back. This image is stable but what is causing this?

C606?

I've just received my 470uf/160v cap and will solder it in tonight. Any ideas beyond this?

B+ pot?
Flyback?

the 156 that feeds the horazontal output isnt right id say you have a bad cap in the main power supply or a loose connection on the regulator.

I have seen the main filter go bad but its very rare. not to say its not possible, I can say that its not the flyback

Not yet. I'm still working on it. What causes the drop in voltage?

Could be a problem in the regulator. I saw the picture you posted , does the distortion roll thru the screen. if it does than its a bad main filter. If there is no rolling than its something else.
