I wonder if the marshmallows taste a just a little better if the game burning was considered RARE....

You just lost one potential customer. Hopefully more!

Take it easy, lemon squeezy.

If you knew anything about the dude, you'd know those cabinets are way past useable. He's going to have to rebuild them just to take them apart to measure for reproductions.

In the next few weeks i'll be starting my own forum dedicated to nothing but arcade preservation and restoration only. It pains me to see the same people trying like hell to win a losing battle and i think you need a place of your own to discuss nothing but the bright side of things. In this new wonderland, you'll never have to worry about another machine dying in vain and i strongly encourage all 8 of you to join. Send me a pm with your head size and i'll have a custom made pair of rose colored glasses for all of you.

And I will make a forum for all the schizoid posers that can't seem to decide what side of the fence they are on. One minute restoring a game, the next minute parting out a nice one because they needed space for another game etc...

oh wait, there is all ready a forum like that, it's called klov...

Yeah - and besides. That EDOT had soaked up so much water I don't even know it's going to burn...

Some games are past saving, and DPtwiz does a great job of making replacement cabinets - using trashed originals as templates.

That pile was my Mario Bros.

Enough said.

Preservation, noun

Related Words: care, maintenance, upkeep; salvation, saving; defense, guardianship, guarding, keeping, protection, safeguarding, safekeeping; economy, husbandry, management

Near Antonyms: dereliction, ignoring, neglect, squandering, waste; destruction, ruin; damage, harm, hurt, injury

Can someone please explain to me why it is -- on a site that was established to celebrate and preserve video arcade games -- that those who support the definition above are the subject of constant derision while those who inflict "destruction, ruin, damage, and harm" on games for profit are protected from scrutiny? I'd really like to know.

Out of the over 50,000 members here, are there really only eight people who actually care about games? If so, that's disgraceful.

Yup, typical American values. Money-grubbing selfishness. If it doesn't benefit them, who cares? Morals, values, compassion, dignity and shame are all dead. I can't wait to see how this next generation of assholes turns out. They're being parented so well and taught so effectively in school.

Thanks for the flashback of my high school days when i had to hand write dictionary definitions Van but i've still yet to see any kind of expressed or written policy here that has strictly prohibited any forum member from doing as they see fit with what they own. I'm not challenging your belief here but your opinions and the few others that rally in your favor are way in the fuck out of line.

These types of arguments are far from new here and you can bitch all you want while the forum carries on in its normal and inevitable fashion. The best part is i can step away for a few minutes, work on my Lunar Lander restoration, pack up a few parts that i just sold here and come back for more whenever you or the other 7 are ready. I'm preserving, maintaining and restoring all at the same time and i have to thank all of those here that support my method.

Whenever anyone's ready to share their opinions regarding their hatred toward myself and others about selling parts, i more than welcome you to PM your phone number and we can scream at each other over the phone for a while instead of visually beating a dead horse. I've said this same thing to several others and so far, nobody has taken me up on it. Each of us can sit at the computer at the same time, you can represent all members in favor of preservation at all costs without parting a single machine and i'll pull up the for sale section.
