What do you mean nobody wanted the whole thing?

I sent you a buyer. He wanted the game. You turned him away because you were too impatient to wait for him to call the next day.

Poor DK.

dk

would hav been happy to sell him the whole thing, he called 6 days later, yes thats to long. i have a 5k dental bill im dealing with lol

dk

was offered on this board for 250 whole thing, no takers who wanted to buy it right then or reserve it for pickup a few days later, as usuall. so its parts went to save 5 other games instead. the cabinet of this one was not great. if it was i would not hav parted it.

Was it really necessary to tear big holes in the cab to remove the L-brackets? Now noone could even reuse and restore the empty cab if they wanted to, regardless of how bad it was or was not...

This is truly despicable.

old debate
i mean where do you think non remade parts come from to restore games like dk, for every one parted 5 potentially are saved from the dump
so i look upon my actions as not destroying one dk game, but saving 5 others from going to the dump if the parts were not available anywhere.

This should be fun

Mostly they come from the shelves, barns, storage units, and warehouses of old OPs who did this same bullshit 20 years ago. If people like you continue this today, there will be nothing left to restore in 20 more years.

And the fact that you defaced and mangled the cabinet because you were too lazy to grab a ratchet now means noone can undo what you're done, and noone can use parts they may already have to rebuild that cabinet.

dk

the monitor mount bolts were frozen on, normal tools would not budge them, but why would anyone want a empty not to great cond. cab for anyway, that cab has no use i could see, no good for mame, and all parts out of it anyway.

dk

fixed right
was offered on this board for 250 whole thing, or, 160 IN SALES to START part out (not all the parts or whole unit for 160. ) , then I offered it to thedrewster0 for 230, he just said some one would call me, which they did 6 days later but by then it was parted. (he did not want it himself for that) still no takers who wanted to buy it right then or reserve it for pickup a few days later, as usuall. so its parts went to save 5 other games instead. the cabinet of this one was not great. if it was i would not hav parted it

THERE ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH CABINETS TO RESTORE OUT THERE, IN ANY PART OF THE COUNTRY YOU CAN GET DK's THAT NEED RESTORING FOR CHEAP. IN THE EG. OF DONKEY KONG THEY MADE HIGH 5 FIGURES OF THE GAME, LIKE 80,000 OR SO, LIKEY ONLY DEMAND IN THE HOME arcade MARKET FOR MAYBE 5000 TO 10,000 SO GUESS WHAT HAPPENS TO THE REST. (they get parted or taken to dump, which happens more than you might think ask anyone that works at a dump how many video games they have seen and it will shock you.) AND I AM DONE WITH THIS THREAD!

I removed my post. Let me know if you want this one removed as well. It's all good.

I can't even believe this BS.

I posted that I was looking for trashed Nintendo cabs just last week.

I have rebuilt DK and DKJR cabs from piles of lumber on the floor into perfect games, and you think this wasn't restorable? Shame on you. There are more than enough parts already on the market to restore every remaining DK cabinet in the world, the fact that you trashed yet another one is inexcusable.

Do you not see the "Last Call" thread at the top of this forum? Unbelievable.

I keep hoping that Mclemore will at some point step up and put a stop to this on his site. People are going to do retarded things to games but Greg and his mods don't have to let it happen HERE.

In the next few weeks i'll be starting my own forum dedicated to nothing but arcade preservation and restoration only. It pains me to see the same people trying like hell to win a losing battle and i think you need a place of your own to discuss nothing but the bright side of things. In this new wonderland, you'll never have to worry about another machine dying in vain and i strongly encourage all 8 of you to join. Send me a pm with your head size and i'll have a custom made pair of rose colored glasses for all of you.

Restoration requires parts, for some reason I think "shelf" parts are far fewer than what people seem to say. If a bare, poor condition shell is gone, give it a break.
We all know when bills come, decisions get made. As it is, knowing myself and many other hobbyists, we feed on cheap parts. A game dies to save others, Dptwiz makes new shells, nothing rare about a nintendo cab that has been stripped.

I'm never happy to see a part out (unless I need the parts), RIP DK.
