Yes I'll wait for his reply and see what he thinks.

I got fuses that say they work for 4a 125 -250v they were slow blow 2 I tried turning it on and the black box there started to smoke so I turned it off right away. One step at a time. Patience is required in this hobby, especially when dealing with monitors. Let's wait and see what mecha says first at a minimum.
Also, just to be sure...
Have you obtained the correct value fuse yet? If yes...have you tried powering on the monitor with it installed?
This is true- I've "wasted" money just trying to get them playing quickly. One step at a time. Patience is required in this hobby, especially when dealing with monitors. Let's wait and see what mecha says first at a minimum.

Do you think a new chassis would fix the issue im having ?I think that I just realized that you were taking measurements from the AC lugs and not from AD (the black degauss wires).
Not that it makes much difference now that we know you have smoking components. That's never good. Don't power the monitor back on again.
You definitley have something wrong somewhere. There is a good chance you will have to send this out for repair. Or buy a replacement outright.
Maybe.Do you think a new chassis would fix the issue im having ?
Maybe.
There could be something wrong with your degauss circuit. Or the degauss wire itself. (The big thick wire that runs around the perimeter of the tube)
If your degauss wire itself is somehow shorting (cut or frayed) then a new chassis isn't going to fix the issue. And you might even damage your new chassis. Just need to proceed with caution.
Do you notice any damage to the degauss wire?
Yeah I looked at it from the front and back and can't seem to find any section where it looks damaged. Ahh good to know what the part is hmmm. What would you do if you were in my place?
Can you provide more context here? Is this a new chassis? Or you got your original chassis back from repair?Just an update got a chassis in installed flipped the switch nothing came on. Checked the voltage at b it was 140v.
Sorry this is a new chassis that I purchased.the prior issue of blowing the fuse is no longer present. Can you provide more context here? Is this a new chassis? Or you got your original chassis back from repair?
Well, now that you have a new chassis installed, you could be dealing with any other number of issues compared to the first one.Sorry this is a new chassis that I purchased.the prior issue of blowing the fuse is no longer present.
Well then...this is certainly interesting. It was sold as known good recapped and tested before shipping. I have tired powering it on and have also tried it with the degauss wire plugged in.
