i have no back round music unless i turn the volume all the way up. at low volume everything sounds ok but no music. i just got the game yesterday it was in a nasty ass basement for the last 3 years but plays very good. thank you all for any help you can give me..Al

i was told to clean 7H and 3H so i did but still nothing. like i said all other sounds work fine and are nice and loud. it's just the background music is very, very low to nothing.

With DK that's a sure sign your audio mix pot is turned all the way to analog sounds only but I don't think DK Jr. has that pot. That being said, it sounds like you've got failure of the digital sounds. Have you checked the braze FAQ?

http://www.brasington.org/arcade/tech/dkj/

"No background music, but other sounds are ok. Background music is mainly controlled by the 8035 MPU at location 7H on the CPU board. The code for the MPU is stored in 2732 Eprom at location 3H. If these chips are socketed it, remove them, clean the contacts and reseat them. It is very common for the 8035 MPU pins to be very tarnished. On some boards the 8035 is soldered in and not socketed."

"No digital sounds at all. Chip 7K (LM324) bad.

No digital sounds at all. Both Chip 7K (LM324) and Chip 8K (DAC-08) bad. It is not very common for the DAC to fail.

Digital sounds (eg music) very soft compared to analog sounds. Bad audio amp Chip 7K (LM324)."
