I acquired a Donkey Kong Jr arcade (Yes, it is an original orange non partical board cabinet).
The game turns on fine and in attract mode, it will reset as soon as it goes to start a game demo.
When I put in a quarter or flip the credit switch, it is fine until I hit the P1 or P2 button. It will start the game, but in like 5 seconds it will restart with 0 credits.

Any Ideas?

I doubt it's this, but first thing is to check your voltages. Visually inspect the board. Reseat all socketed chips. Try again.

Edit: don't forget to reseat the ribbon cables as well.

Check the program ROMs, CPU, and other socketed chips near the CPU for corroded pins - both the chips AND the sockets.

You could also have a bad program ROM. I've seen ROMs that would pass checksums yet not run at full speed. It was an odd one to figure out.

A couple of the socket chip had corrosion on them, cleaned ALL of the chips and reseated a couple times and it worked the same - always restarting when a game starts.
