Here's a video of Donkey Kong Jr. from level 4 thru the end of level 6. The game doesn't get any more difficult after level 4 so this is really all you need to get to the kill screen... oh yeah... you also need to be able to concentrate for a couple hours on just DKjr. :D

That was a great video! I learned a few things. You really get through those levels FAST! Very impressive,

Awesome! Thanks for posting it. I didn't know that you could reach over and grab the keys in the middle. I always thought that you had to push them from underneath.

Cool video, nice work..i dont have a DKjr here at my house but i play it when ever i go to my FILs place....nice work on the PO in the back ground..

Great video Jeff. You play and move with great confidence. You don't screw around and wait during the spring and hideouts levels.

Yep, and you heard me be the first to admit it!!! :D I never had that happen like that before so it was cool to have a first and catch it on video to boot.

This was the second game of the day and for some reason I just couldn't find my groove. There are some sloppy moves in there but hopefully you get the idea of what you can do to get through the levels pretty quickly.

And Steve W. commented in the other DKjr thread about at the top of the spring board level you can just jump from the right most platform to the vine... yep... you can. But, I have tried playing that way and I just can't get the timing right consistently. If I was younger and had a little better concentration and/or timing I probably could... but I can't so I don't. :D

I still want to video a couple more attempts to see if I can zone out and play better. My son has watched me in the past and he says it's just soo darn boring the way I play because I do the exact same thing every time and make it look like it's easy.

Funny... I say the same about him on alot of games and he's only 9. :D

Yeah, I learned that move from Jason Cram awhile back. I was unaware of it until then but I use that and then drop down and move slightly left, jump straight up, rinse repeat until I can reach the end of the board (or if the big space comes before I can get there where I can just go immediately). Your video makes me want to start playing it again. I like your pattern at the beginning of the board, if I can get the super jump with consistency I will certainly try that.

I have a video of Ike Hall playing and he has 147,500 on the start of Lv 5 .

Yeah, if you really want a decent score, you gotta point press on Mario's Hideout. Lots of points to be gained by jumping over the sparks, since the timer counts down pretty slowly.

For Mario's Hideout, if I'm playing for points I stay to the left on the third level up and jump sparks.

I wasn't going for points at all here, just trying to show the basic strategy for getting by the boards. The grabbing of the middle banana on the first boards is just a habit. :)

I think its more than a habit now , more like an addiction !

Thanks for posting. That is great to view someone playing so well. It would be awesome to see additional videos like these for other classics.
