I bought a DK Jr and the sound worked. One of the wires was actually alligator cliped to the speaker. I soldered it back inplace, had the monitor recapped and now when I plug the speaker into the chassis I get a high pitched squeal. When it is not plugged in, I can hear the sound faintly. I found this, sounds like the board on the monitor.

Just wanted to double check before I order the kit. Is Bob Roberts the only one with this kit?

Thanks

Greg

Bob the only place that I know that sales it. While your at it I had trouble with the R383 Resistor it's also a fuse.

Bob sales those as well. Check and see if your getting continuity. If it's blown order a new one while your ordering the audio rebuild kit. Hell I'd order a few case it blows again.

Also I don't think it would be the DK jr board since you said it worked fine before you solder it but I did have a DK jr board that made a high pitch noise like your talking about. It was most certainly a board issue cause the audio board was fine on other game boards.

Hopefully this isn't your problem and it's just the audio board.

Also pay attention to the two prong connectors on the audio board I understand if you switch em and power the game it can cause board issues with the game board. They are not keyed and you can put them in wrong spot. One of em labeled JC if I recall corrently. Make sure you put em back where they went originally.

Good Info, thanks. I will check for continuity tonight.
The connection is a red and white wire, i am assuming they just match up colors right?

Thanks

Arcadeshop sells the audio board kits too. You should check and see if you have correct voltages coming into the soundboard from the main chassis. Maybe something on the chassis got messed up. Should be around 108 volts and 130 volts DC coming in if I remember correctly.
You can clip on ground and then put your meter lead in the back of the plug from the main chassis, there are 3 wires, a red, black, and white I think, you want the Red and White I think. One should be 108 and one should be 130 give or take a couple volts.
