Anybody know how many of these were made, spot on or approximate? I have cabinet #00063 and I'm just trying to think of how many might have been made after since there's so many around. I know, I know, nothing "worth much", but just kind of cool to think about. :)

Thanks!

Earlier today I was wondering if there was any sort of database of production numbers of various classics. Major Havoc had about 300 dedicated made, I believe, Quantum, 500...I'd love to figure out more.

Remember they were made by Nintendo in Japan and by Nintendo of America in the USA so there is I believe a jump in the serial numbers between them.

That is interesting. All the tags I've seen, with the exception of my Goonies conversion kit, all say "Made In JAPAN". Even the -US cabinets. I wonder why?

I believe that the parts were shipped from Japan and put into cabs that were built here for the US cabs. I seem to recall that actually being documented somewhere.

There may or may not of been a jump in numbers. I don't see why they would though. I see no reason why Jr wouldn't of had a production number of well over 10,000 cabs as well.

There is a user on KLOV who has number 60479.

I have a U.S. made DK Jr cab too. It's particle board.
Mine is particle board too, except for the speaker panel, kick plate, and control panel which are plywood.

I have a USA DK and it is plywood with Formica so the sides are thicker than a Japanese plywood cabinet and it had wider on center t molding that had a dome, Nintendo made cabinets all different ways at different times and locations.

I'd assume the particle board cabs have the made is us plate where Mike's is the thinner plywood cab hence the japan plate.

Yeah and yours are made by Nintendo Co. LTD. and mine was by Nintendo of America (formerly Far East Video) the boards are made in Japan though.

Far East Video?! This caught my attention, but a quick Google search proved fruitless. I've been Nintendo obsessed for going on 30 years, but never heard this before now. Could you kindly give a bit more info, or even a link, about Far East Video?
Thanks Tighe!

Back on topic, I have two blue cabs, one tag labeled 'Made in USA' and the other 'Made in Japan'.

Al Stone and Ron Judy were importing Nintendo games from Japan to the USA when they were approached by Nintendo and turned their business into Nintendo of America.

I got a DKjr with 455 marked in the wood. the metal plate has scratches on the serial number. I can make out the last two numbers on the plate out of three numbers which are ?77. Is the numbers on the wood a serial number? I know this is a DKjr from the beginning because it had the side art under the bolts during my restoration on it.
