Maybe there's not such an excitement for you guys who have been doing this for a long time, but boy am I stoked!!!
I'll post pictures under my restoration thread when it's complete, but today I completed my first Sanyo cap kit on my DK Jr whose monitor was essentially playing blind. Took quite a while and some were not in the easiest of locations.
Checked all the polarities, made sure all the connectors were snug and fired it up -- admittedly with quite a bit of hesitation. The high pitched sound of a monitor turning on and no flames were both good signs. Walked around front and I screamed for joy.
Nice crisp, bright colors and the monitor came up solid in less than 5 seconds!
Does anyone know how to nudge the display slightly to the right? It's just a hair off-centered.
Also, where is the B+ test and adjustment pot so I can confirm the voltage is all good?
MODS: Meant to put this in the monitor forum. Please feel free to move.
