Donkey Kong JR Cocktail Problems, is it the PCB or Monitor?

Hi I have a Donkey Kong Cocktail table that is all messed up...... BAD!

The monitor display's a Multiple Garbled Image, the monitor type is a: (Sanyo 18-Z2AB)

So what I did was decided to swap out monitors to see if the monitor is the problem, I swap it for a 100% working (Sanyo 20-EZV) and I get the same Multiple Garbled Image as I did before. So the PCB is the problem?

So I decided to test the (Sanyo 18-Z2AB) monitor, so I connected that to a 100% working Nintendo VS systems PCB and I get the same out-put on the monitor a Multiple Garbled Image. So the monitor is the problem?

So guys whats going on here? Anyone know where I should start? I have added a picture of whats being displayed on the (Sanyo 18-Z2AB) monitor, so yeah please if anyone can help me or direct me to the right thing to do it would be very cool. Also I have tried adjusting all the pots on the monitor, witch didnt help.

Thank you guys for all the help!

Post pictures of the problem. Could be (quite likely is) something that is fixed with adjustments to the monitor (HSync, vhold etc).

Did this ever come in perfectly? That looks like a dk high score screen. mess with the pots for the sides of the screen and see if anything changes.

Huh? Looks to me like the DKJr title screen (bottom pic) and the DKJr level 1 board (top pic). Certainly not DK.

If both monitors come up with the same result, it is time to start looking at the PCBs -- pots, socketed chips, ribbon cables, etc.

but, i hope you guys read what i said... i tested the pcb with a 100% working monitor and i get the same.

i tested the orignal monitor with a 100% working pcb and i get same...

also i allredy adjusted all the pots on both pcb and monitor, no change

You didn't say one way or another but I'll assume you are utilizing the same video cable between monitors yes?

or

You very well could have a compound issue on your hands.
On the suspected faulty DKJR pull the z80 proc out and clean the legs. Re seat the two cables at the bottom of the board.

JFYI you can take a dialed in, working monitor using a DK JR pcb, and then put in a different DK JR PCB and have it look like crap / freaking out / out of sync until you adjust it again. It happens. Just swapping out monitors doesn't 100% rule out the original monitor (although it is a good test still).

That said, that does look to me like a board issue and not a monitor issue.

So I did a CAP kit on the monitor and sound board. Put the monitor back in, and to my surprise my DK JR CT is now 100% fully working!

So yah the PCB was 100%, it was just the monitor that was screwed up. Im glad I had some extra CAP's and the idea that I should replace them.
