I have been working on restoring the cabinet of my DK Jr. and there are a few things I need help with. parts of the side in several spots have peeled away from the cabinet and im not sure what the right way to fix it is. Am I going to need to completely rebuild the side panel?

Thanks

+1 on the wood glue, and possibly wood hardener in the areas where the plywood is separating. Where the laminate has lifted from the wood you can use some 3M spray adhesive to get deep in the cracks.

Would something like this construction adhesive work?

That's probably fine. I've used liquid nail on stuborn pieces before, and that's essentially what that product you linked to is. Get some cheap clamps to hold the laminate down and to ensure a good bond; let it dry overnight.

Check out part 4 of my Joust restore on my youtube channel. It's all about doing body work. There might be some useful info in there; you can see what worked and what didn't work for me.

That is Formica you are looking at there. The best way to reattach it is to use the adhesive that is used for adhering Formica, rubber cement. (Not the rubber cement in the office supply issue)

You can buy it at Walmart in the adhesive adhesive isle and it comes in a can.

Pull the Formica back and paint the rubber cement on the back of the Formica and the cabinet where it separated.

Keep the two halves apart for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes and the cement looks dry put the two halves together and use a j roller and roll over the area applying and 25 pounds of pressure per square inch. (Press hard but not ridiculously hard)
