Just picked up a Donkey Kong stand up for $150 on craigslist. Owner said the monitor was broken and had someone out to fix it, but was told it couldn't be repaired. I got home, noticed one of the pots on the circuit board was loose and then adjusted the horizontal hold. I quickly was able to get a picture, although looks like it needs a cap kit. I'm not able to get the color just right, and have a few other issues I hope someone can help me with. First, I cannot read the initials of any of the high scores. I also cannot see any of the letters when trying to enter my initials after a high score. Finally, on the first stage, I cannot make out the word "oil" on the oil barrel. Does anyone have any tips to help me get this baby back up and running? Thanks in advance!!!

I would just do like you say and get a cap kit, then start from scratch with a full color adjustment following the respective manual. It should walk you through the right order to get the correct colors and you can also look at the diagram to identify which knobs are for what color drive etc. Convergence appears fine. Seriously, don't just start cranking knobs, you can set youself back pretty far if you're not careful.

Use the pots on the neckboard to increase the green.

I cannot tell you how many games I've come across that people have screwed with things so badly it's all out of whack and they sell it cheap because of it. Good news for you of course. Don;t "trust" the prior owner knew what they were doing.

Already tried the pots on the neck board. I ordered the cap kit today, hope it works, but think it must be something else.
