So my DK cabinet was converted to a VS, my question is was the original control panel wood? The VS one is metal

my cabinet is a TKG4.

and if it is wood -- Does anyone have plans template etc to make one?

I've got one. If someone doesn't post the measurements by the time I get home from work, I'll post them for you. I've been meaning to make a few of these anyway.

I ordered a replacement from mikes arcade about a year ago, I had them email me the measurements before purchasing because I scratch built my cab. This is what they told me:

"The panel is 22-3/8" long and 8-7/16" wide."

I will verify when I get home, but I think this is correct.

Just bought materials to make about 15 of them. As soon as I get the measurements, I'll post them. I'm going to try and knock out a few today.

Just measured mine, these specs seem correct.

Is it just a rectangular piece? it has a grove for t-molding software right? and and grove under it for the metal flange on the cabinet. Alos does it fit in a slot in the lower marquee wooden piece on the cabinet

Here's the pics from the cnc. I get dimensions for you in a few minutes. Took me a while to draw this up.

Yes. I am selling them with an adhesive backed vinyl CPO, T-Molding and Plexi cover for $55 shipped. You will have to cut out the CPO and apply it. This is not a perfect reproduction. The Plexiglass will cover the entire CP, instead of just the CPO. The instruction card will be printed as part of the CPO and not separate. But they look great. I will post some pictures and a new thread in the FS section this evening when I get home.

Just so you know, there is a slightly larger cutout on the top side of the panel for the metal plate that holds the joystick. I didn't see anyone mention it and it's usually covered by the plexi CPO. The joystick isn't just mounted to the wood.

I think alot of people would be interested in the bare blanks, myself included.

Incorrect artwork and non-original plexi overlays is something I have no interest in owning or paying for, but if the bare blanks came down to a reasonable rate, you could move alot of them here. You have to keep in mind that you're competing with Mike's $95 panel that does have correct art, plexi, instructions, t-molding, mounting hardware, buttons and a poopy joystick.

*edit* : The above poster is correct, there is another routed square for the joystick mounting plate. If you can fully match the originals, sales galore.

I would be in for the wood cp and an accurately sized plexi. To echo Bally's thoughts, anything that conforms to the original I would buy in an instant.
