Hello,
I have two sound boards both off the 4 board cocktail pcb set with different sound issues. The first one all sounds are good except for the jump sound is real weird. I have read that if it is a 2 board set that wiggling capacitor c24 47UF if the sound changes it might tell you if it is bad . I can not find this capacitor on my 4 board set. On the 4 board set on the sound board the capacitor at c24 is a ceramic disc capacitor that is 0.022 25v
Does anyone have any other suggestions to check on a 4 board set?

My other sound board has missing sounds. It is missing all of the digital sounds like the coin up sound, introduction sounds of the start of the game and probably others I have failed to mention. The sounds it does have are Kong jumping up and down. Mario run, walk climb. The answer to this from what i have read is possibly replace lm324 but I am not sure where that is on a 4 board set.
I am at my witts end with these two sound boards. I have already removed all socketed chips from all of the boards and cleaned them and sprayed contact cleaner in all of the sockets.
If anybody has some information that pertains to 4 board sets it would be greatly appreciated.

you will find that many people do not work on the 4 board sets.

shoot darthi8nt a pm and see what he thinks as he repairs theses 4 board sets.

Thanks Buffett for the info. I replaced all of the electrolytic caps on the sound board for the one that had the weird jump sound. Success it sounded great. I do say sounded beacause I played Donkey Kong for several hours and the sound was great. I did notice that the screen looked like it was breathing in the platforms that Mario runs on. Sorta wavy looking. It was barely noticable but I could see it. I decided to take the monitor out and remove the monitor chassis. All of the caps in the monitor looked new, so I checked for cracked solder joints and touched up a few. I also noticed that the last person to work on this game decided to replace R410 but forgot to solder it in and to clip the long leads. So I soldered it in and clipped the inch long leads on each end. I put the monitor back together and plugged in the game and boom, bang, crash, flames, and smoke. Dammit I hate that when that happens. I unplugged the game immediatly and checked to see where I had screwed up. Apparently in my haste I screwed up on the JB & JC connectors on the sound amp on the monitor. They are both 3 pin and I reversed them. There is now cap confetti on the bottom of the game cabinet and New Years isnt for a couple of more days. Well to make a long story short my sound board is smoked all blackened in about a 3 inch circular area.
I will not flunk this test twice and I will be writing sentences as soon as I am done with this post.
I will save the smoked sound board for a rainy day and am now trying to get the digital sounds working on the other board. I still have not found LM324 that I read in another post that may fix digital sounds on the two board set.
By the way there is no 47UF cap on a 4 board DK sound board. i had read in a previous post that replacing this cap on a two board set may fix the weird jump sound.
I will send darthi8nt a pm and see if he might be able to pass down some of his wisdom.
Hopefully by typing this post I save somebody from doing a bonehead thing of reversing wires on the sound amp or can help with the breathing wavy platforms or fixing the weird jump sound problem.
