I am looking for a working set of Donkey Kong boards to then upgrade to the DIIK junpman. So my questions are, is there a certain board set needed? Like the 2 board set over the 3 board set? Also as stated before I am looking for a Working DK board, who would be the best to go through? Thanks.

2 board set is the easiest by far. 4 board set ya gotta do some soldering and such.

can't help ya with who to get 1 from though. lots of decent sellers on here though. maybe somebody has 1.

Not necessarily. I've got a cocktail with the 4 board set, and the Z80 was socketed. I did have to relocate one of the boards though. The audio board was covering the Z80 slot, but it's only a half-sized board, so I moved it to the top half (the board interconnect cables were long enough). I don't know if all the uprights that had 4 board sets had the Z80 soldered, but they kept making the 4 board sets after the uprights were converted to 2 board, because the 2 board set wouldn't fit in the cocktail. So it would stand to reason if the 2 board sets had them socketed, the 4 board sets made at the same time would too :)

Yeah, not all 4 board sets need to have a socket installed for the CPU. Only the early ones were socket-less.
