Donkey Kong Bezel

$50 sounds about right. I got mine on ebay for that much shipped. I would post in the WTB section as I'm sure there are some guys with some decent originals or repros for sale.

yes they are still available but I agree that there used to be a number of sources for these and now I think Arcade shop is the main retail source left foe them.

I know this is a dumb question, but are the repros mostly plexi, or are there any glass ones out there? My DK is a conversion so it has the plexi one. I always prefered the glass myself.

there was never glass monitor bezels...only plexiglass...if you had a glass one, it may have been maybe a sample machine....I had these games when they were new and always plexi....Todd

They're all plexi. Nintendo didn't use bronzed tempered glass until the dedicated Vs., SM PC-10 and R-Type machines.

I was surprised when I found out the red tent bezels are made of a one layer of plexi and then another layer of glass. I figured it would just be plexi.

I have an unused reproduction, but would rather put a glass monitor cover on the game, since glass is more scratch resistant.

Yeah, the earliest DK Bezels are similar in that the front is clear plexi with silk screened art on the back and have a smaller tinted piece double-side-taped to the back of the clear plexi. Radarscope and earlier bezels are like this too.

The more common DK bezel is tinted plexi with the silk screened art on the front.
