Some thug4lyf3 was nice enough to represent his set in scratched initial form on what is otherwise an amazingly pristine bezel.

Didn't find much after searching forums on an effective way to repair such damage. Any tips appreciated.

Interested in feedback from those who tried this as well - Ive tried NOVUS myself and it worked OK. Ive heard of people using blow torch to get out scratches but seems intense. GL on the repair

Ordered the 1-2-3 Novus kit from Amazon. Will post an update once I give it a go.

Do a search, there's a few threads on it.

Depending on the depth of the scratch, you may need to break out the sand paper. Novus is not going to help with anything that you can catch a finger nail on. I believe you'll need to wet sand, starting with more coarse paper, then move to finer and fine sandpaper, THEN Novus 3, then 2, then clean with 1.

Scratched initials are usually pretty deep. You need to start with sandpaper. Maybe 400 grit to start. Sand down (wet sand) until you can't see the initials at all anymore. Then work your way through progressively finer grits, up to 1500 or 2000. Then move on to Novus. Process is very time consuming, but it works. Don't try a torch. Flame polishing is for very fine scratches, and it's too easy to cause warping that you can't fix.

Understood regarding the sand paper. Really want to keep the original bezel rather than buy a repro out of principle.

Right on. Original Bezels are thicker and if the art is still good then the damage should come out. I've heard quite a few people claim they have brought these back. I have a few pieced I've been meaning to get to one day but haven't tried it yet myself.
