Donkey Kong Arcade Game-Special Edition VERY RARE!

That's what it looks like to me.

He says he paid $2000 for it. If I were an interested buyer, I'd skip this one altogether. Seems like the sort of seller that could be a potential problem.

I would most defineatly pass, does his listing now violate any Ebay rules?

I see a red 'Kong and I want to paint it BLACK.

is that the extra level that where donkey kong asks mario for some red paint and a joint.

That same auction was up a few weeks ago and he pulled the plug.

He said it was at his lake house or something and wasn't able to give any detail on serial numbers, etc. Looks like it says "1981 Nintendo of America" there too. Could be a replica. You knever know.

There was a thread about this a couple weeks ago too. The game has the Foundry level ROMs that Jeff Kulczycki made before he did D2K, that's the extra level. It's not some rare special edition. All you need is $30 to order the ROM's and you can add them yourself ;)

Yeah, I figured that the "extra level" was the Foundry kit. A red cabinet is nice but I am perfectly happy with my blue one.

"You cannot find a nicer machine."

Yeah, maybe we could if we could see the sides of this one.

If I wanted a red DK I'd just get a blue one and paint it red. What a poop, wanting $2000 for a arcade game.

Re:

Is that the Donkey Kong Championship Turbo Edition Alpha 3 EX 2???, if so.... I'm sold!

LOL... I don't think there's too much credibility, posting a blurry picture right next to one of those craptastic Midway Home Multigames. And I've gotta question the credibility of the article he linked to: http://www.helium.com/items/1795202-rare-arcade-video-games ... Q*Bert is the #1 rarest arcade game???

The cocktail table version of Pac-Man is highly coveted because of the additional games that are stored within the electronic components. Some of the Pac-Man cocktail tables include as many as forty-seven additional games.
Are you kidding me? I guess a Pac cocktail with a multi board is way more 'rare' than a standard one.

My response to this joker:

Dear industrialking (with feedback rating of 87.5%),

I was sitting around in my parent's basement all night and day with a few of my nerdish clown friends, talking about where and when we might all be able to get a life, when we started talking smack about the VERY RARE Special Edition Red Donkey Kong that you have been trying to sell on eBay for the past 4 or 5 months. Your claim that you bought this game for $2000 seems curious to us, as we are pretty sure that when your auction first came out a while back you stated you paid $3000 for it. Regardless, paying either price for this game simply speaks to someone spending way too much money for something that is worth about $500 at most. I would be deeply concerned if I were one of your business customers.

And on the topic of smart business decisions, we were wondering why a business owner such as yourself would be trying to sell a game for such a high price with such a crappy picture. If I had a game that had brand new decals, glass, monitor, controls, and everything, I would take lots of high quality pictures so people could see I wasn't just talking out of my ass, trying to run a scam or something. Especially since Donkey Kong has no glass, the bezel is plastic, and it requires a special type of monitor that hasn't been made in about 30 years. Sure, you could have bought a new monitor when they were still available, and used a converter to make it work, but that sounds like nerd work to me, and probably not something you are up to.

Anyway, good luck with the sale, and in the future, you may want to spend sometime reviewing some of the talk on websites centered on video games, as it might save you a bunch of money next time.

Damn that's some funny stuff.

Interestingly enough, the guy that had the nice red cab that claimed it was at the 1982 worlds fair only sold for around $480 I believe.. after he realized his story wouldn't fly. That one would have actually been a deal for the selling price IMO.

... Looks like its back up, and he is also responding to the klovers in his description....ha!

That almost made me piss myself laughing. He puts his rant against us in his eBay auction!?!?!?!?

Lol. This pic sums it up:

Re:

LOL! I can't believe he would give a hateful shout-out to the community in his eBay auction. That just goes to show his character and that he is booty hurt. The only thing special seems to be the seller...
