Today when I was playing DK, the screen image (Only while playing) would constrict and retract a little (no other problems with color, image, or sound). This started a couple of days ago and it seems like its getting worse, to the point that it's making it hard to concentrate on the gameplay. Anyone know what the problem is? Is my monitor going out, a problem with the power supply, or is it just over heating (I leave it on in my store 24/7 and it's been very hot out the week.)?

Also I'm getting my DK JR. outa storage soon. I remember that the picture color is off. Everything is too green. I played with the knobs (about a year ago) in the back but it didn't fix it. Do you think a re-cap would fix the color problem or will I need to replace the monitor? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

sounds like your dk may just need a cap kit....but the dk jr. either has a bad green drive transistor or the picture tube may have a shorted green gun.

monitor image still contract/expands due to loud audio

After turning the dk machine back on and playing, it seems like the picture only fluctuates when theres a loud audio noises, like DK stomping his feet or a blue barrel cathing on fire... Anyway to fix it?

I'm thinking since it's been 90º in the store that the Machine is just getting overheated. Anyone put a mini fan in their machines? I'm assuming all I have to do is plug in an extention where the marquee light plugs in...

Bahahahahahaha, classic.

"What's wrong with my machine?"

"Needs some maintenance done to it. Most likely a cap kit which will require you or someone you know to do a little work."

"It only happens when it's on."

"Needs a capkit."

"Hey anyone know? Is it because it's hot?"

Bahahahahahahaha. Just cap the monitor and adjust the B+ to 108VAC
