I found a donkey kong 3 painted black,But working any idea of value? I've never played one is it any fun? Is the power supply or wiring harness Similar or the same as any other Nintendo so I could convert it to a Donkey kong.
Thanks

I have no clue on value, but I would guess no more that a couple benjamins since the cabs been painted (and I assume missing side art). Someone more knowledgeable will chime in Im sure. I would say even less if its missing any other artwork, or needs any repair.

As far as I know, DK3 uses the same wiring as DKJR and a 2-board DK, so converting should be easy. Acually most DK3's I believe are converted DK or DKJR games anyway, if the serial tags are still in place this should give a clue as to what the game was originally. DK3 is ok, it combines some elements of DK with a 2D shooter platform, like Galaga, but its definitely the black sheep of the DK series.

IMO what you describe is probably worth $100-200 tops. Good news is DK 3 uses the wiring harness that utilizes the edge connector that is on the end of DK, DK jr and DK 3. So any of these should be relatively easy to swap into that cab.

most people hate on DK3. Personally, I hate the living sh*t out of Dk Jr and think that DK3 is actually pretty fun. I think if it were called something besides a DK game, a lot more people would like it.

Agreed. If it was called "Exterminator" or something, it would be very highly regarded. It's a fun little game.

Haha! Good call SanTe. I used to have a dk/jr/dk3 board in a jr machine. Outside of my friends, jr got no love. Now I've got a dedicated dk so I'm done messing with that semi-retarded ape child.

Btw: I'm assuming you're the same SanTe from cagdc and formerly the tg forums?

Put me down in the "hater" catagory. :)
And I agree....a couple hundred bucks, at best.....probably less with the shitty paint job. And the freebie they're tossing in, is a bust too.

I think this is true, I personally love DKJR though, DK3 was just a huge letdown for me at least, maybe if it didn't have the DK name but it tainted the game for me.

I have played all the DK games like most here, and I've got to say Donkey kong 3 is a good game. It's to much compared to DK.

Ghost out.

I think any decent condition plywood Nintendo cabinet with a working power supply and good monitor is worth $150. I'd say $150-$250 with a working game is realistic. $100 is nuts.
