Don"t you hate it when you see

Offer to fix it ;)

But be careful what you wish for:

My Thread.

I do not spend much time outside of the pinball part of KLOV, but that thread absolutely ruled.

I have told others about the pizza for life part of it. It seemed like quite the adventure and you kicked butt.

I think operators these days are very lazy and dont care about their machines such as cleaning the playfield it does not take that much time to clean and wax a playfield.I think some of them dont even know where to start

The main biz around here does not keep their machines in good working order. I happened to be around while a guy was replacing a leg bracket on a MM and tried to talk pinball with him a bit. It was when I learned about optics for the first time.

He did not like me bothering him while he was working after I asked why they do not clean the playfields and let them get dirty. He snapped at me saying they laid people off and the pins are not making money and they do not have time to "baby" the machines.

He went to the truck to get more parts with the change box staring right at me. I reached in and swiped out the dust bunnies on the outlanes :(
Just a few minutes to clean the playfield just a bit would of made a big difference. They are the major vending company in my town. Pinball is their least concern with all the snickers and soda they sell.

They are friendly to me though. Sent me a scan of all their pinball locations which helped me build my pinball map and give them money.

I know the exact machine you're talking about. It's in that one smaller arcade, beside the Elvis, and i think family guy when I was there last. None in absolute great shape, but nothing that was really awful, from what I recall.

Also, rumour has it there's a larger arcade in that airport with more pins... would be interested in seeing if I can get to it, without having to actually buy a ticket anywhere...

Yep, it's the smaller "Flippers" location before security, Simpsons, Attack from Mars and Elvis.

Past Security is where the good stuff is, there are 2 more "Flippers" locations just across from eachother, this is down the new D wing which WestJet uses. Over there you will find High Roller Casino, Simpsons, Junkyard, Elvis, Pirates of the Carribean, Lord of the Rings, Roller Coaster Tycoon and Star Wars Episode 1.

The machines past security are in better condition but they're still maintained by SML which sucks.

So do I actually need to be boarding a plane to get there, or will the security let me slip past to play some pins? :) Sounds like a pretty awesome collection of pins, too!

We've got an SML here in Dead Rear. They've got an AFM for sale, 5400$, and it's in pretty rough shape. They've had it for almost a year now... I can't imagine why

I've been trying to think of a way to get in there to play those games but short of booking a flight or getting a job at the airport I just don't see it. Last flight I was on back home, I stopped for an hour and a half to play and just abandoned my checked baggage, it was there waiting for me so no worries.

The SML at CrossIron Mills Mall has a beat up and worn out Simpsons with that same $5,400 price tag on it. You can get a NIB Stern machine of your choice from Jay Richardson delivered to your door for less than that, plus he'll include a few service calls and any software updates available.

SML is horrible, I went in there to buy 2 full sets of rubber, cleaning product, pinballs, legs and few other supplies. On the phone I was told they had absolutely everything in stock, when I got there all they had was black rubber, not white and some wax. That's all. Rushed me out the door also, had no time for me when I asked if they had any other parts in stock.

When we went to Mexico, we had a stopover in Calgary. Tons of pins in the airport, I had an amazing game on a Stern POTC, and we almost missed our flight cause I didn't hear them call us haha, my wife would have KILLED me.

That Simpsons is sold. We were in there two weeks ago, and the coin slots were taped up, and there was a sold sign over the price tag. I told my girlfriend to guess the price, flipped up the Sold Sign, and yeah, 5400 or so... painful...

When I was first learning about pins, SML gave me grand delusions about the actual costs of pins. Also about the repair. I went in there asking about replacement balls (lol...) and found out it was gonna be 6 bucks for some random ball... not even special, just a bin full of balls their tech pulled from various machines over time...

Ouch that's brutal, when I was at the airport the last couple times a few of their games were actually in decent condition compared to most games I've seen in the wild. Our local guy's prices are also through the roof, I've given up on even asking him. He has alot of nice pins too, but they are beyond abused. ie. STTNG, Funhouse, Tommy, Guns N Roses, Starwars Pin2k, etc...
