This is how my Domino Man is looking right now:

When I started, the board was dead or not working in my cabinet. I have gotten this far by:

1) Tested all the ROMs - they are now all good (found some bad ones).
2) Reseated all socketed chips
3) Checked +5 volts. Good.
4) Tested all edge connector harnesses for continuity. Found a bad one and replaced it.

I am out of ideas. Anyone know what else I could try? I have two extra dead boards that I could swap parts out of if you have any ideas.

Thanks!

Did you check the other voltages on the power supply 12VDC and the reset line? Fuses? Do you have any other MCR hardware games (Tron, Satan's Hollow, Tapper, Timber, Spy Hunter...to name a few)?

Well at least now the screen matches the gameplay.

You're crazy. I must own ever game that features a man with a mustache. I really wished they made a Magnum PI arcade game. How great would that be? It would be better if it had user selectable characters. I would pick TC and his helicopter and fly Rick and Magnum around the islands.

My God would I love that game. In fact, if I owned one, I'd make love to it. Magnum = The Best Mustachio Ever

Ok, I got it to come to life! Woot! I swapped out the Z80 on the SUPER CPU board and BAM! It works, complete with sound.

Slight problem now, I have vertical bars on all the sprites and as shown:

Should I double check the ROMs??? Anything else you guys can think of?

I fixed it!!!

I think it was the video ram. I was gonna start swapping out video rams but decided to just swap the whole video board (I had 2 extras) and... BAM! Woot!

I didn't try this chip. Is this on the sound board?

I had a Z8400 on my Spy Hunter board, so I figured that yours would be the same, being another MCR game. But I knew the scrambled screen had something to do with the processor.

Glad you got it working! :)
