As I am about to build 40 more of these harnesses. I have a couple questions to ask not only to the people who have purchased, but general questions that may make my life easier.

1.Does anyone care about coin counters anymore? The previous harness has had counter support, but I don't see the point as I never wired mine back in.

2.How do people coin up their games? Freeplay kit, tokens, open door and credit?

3.If I could put a jumper in the harness to make coining up easy instead of counter support, would that work for you.

The jumper could be used or not used at any time.

Let me know - Barry

I would be interested in buying one or two. Have always bugged Dokert. If I were to buy, I would want it to be as authentic as possible, including coin counter.

Thanks!

There is a thread in the for sale section, but I think the list is full up for this project bud.

And I'd want the harness as authentic as possible. I hook the counters up, and I have a HSS on all these boards for free play anyways.

Yes.

Freeplay, but you never know when I'll sell the game and it'll go back on route.

Doesn't interest me. I'd like the harness original. Please. :D

I do on one machine but not the other. I like having the option.

I coin mine every once in a while just for fun. Mario Bros. is in freeplay mode. My DK has a credit button that's wired off the left coin mech.

Given the choice I'd say stay with the coin counter support. If you wanted to add a jumper on top of that it would be cool.

I have to Coin up my Mario WB...no freeplay kit yet...I like having the coin counter so when I hear it flip, I know the credit added successfully...yes the game makes the coin sound, but I like the mechanical sound :)

Freeplay is built into the standard PCB. Press and hold the service switch and it will bring up the menu. Then you can set it to free play.

I just open the door and trigger the coin switch on mine. I don't know how much effort it would be, but maybe extending the coin wires with one more set of connectors so someone could get a credit switch with spade terminals and mount it in the inside coindoor somewhere like Ms Pac has.

For this run, the counter support will stay although it may not in the future.

Now for the coin up idea. I know several people who wire in the player 2 start button to the coin switch to get credits. Press 2 start to get credit, press 1 start to play or press 2 start twice to play a 2 player game. This is common at the NW pinball and arcade show on games that don;t have freeplay and I've seen it used in many home arcades.

Instead of having to wire in a jumper from 2 start to the coin door, I was considering putting in a jumper at the edge connector from 2 start to coin 2. There would be a disconnect so you could run it stock or with the 2 start coinup.

Not sure if I'm going to put it in yet, but maybe. - Barry
