A whole crate full of my stuff has simply disappeared. I've turned the entire p1001 empire upside down twice. It's gone. Vanished. What the hell happened to it? Am I the only one whose stuff grows legs?

Nope, I have the same thing happen. Right now I am searching for some pinball displays that I know that I have. I've found that the quickest way to make the stuff show up is to buy a replacement for it. Within a week of the purchase you will find the original stuff that disappeared.

How very true! For me it's tools that grow legs and run away, until of course I replace them, then they get together with the 15 others that went missing before them and they come marching back home... :(

I wish I could blame it on the kids.... I am the chief loser of my stuff! Its unbelievably annoying when I _know_ I have something.. somewhere

I agree with encom, but that does get expensive.

Don't ya have a kid to blame it on? That's what my ole' man used to do.

Mine used to do that... Then, last year I actually found one of his wrenches in my toolbox. He lives 8hrs away and I moved out over 20 years ago... Maybe he wasn't just blaming me after all...

yeah. when i was restoring my 73 firebird 7 years ago i had a closed up box with powdercoated altenator/ p/s brackets, assorted bolts, the harmonic balancer and washer in it, and my mother tossed it thinking it was trash. that was a pretty bad day. it got worse when i went to the dump and they laughed at me.

I wish! They both grew up and left the nest. I make them carry games up and down the stairs every time they visit. They don't visit often. Coincidence?

I'm the worst at losing things. I can be working on something with a tool...never leave the spot...and still lose the tool. I'm amazing that way.

A couple years ago I was working on putting an amp in my Morris Minor. Never stepped away from the car. Set my screwdriver down for a minute and lost it. Two years later and I still haven't found it. I had to go get another one.

If I leave it in the living room or dining room then the wife will move it to a place of her choosing.

She says I shouldn't encroach on the living space.

My worst thing is when I get the cleaning bug. I will box stuff up and then carefully write out exactly what is in the box and stick it in the closet label side to the wall. Doh!

DITO:

My second hobbie, I love to wrench on cars. NOT a certified mechanic by any means but I can fix just about anything on a vehicle. Pet peeve, I will spend more time looking for tools that are no farther then 3 feet from the project in question and like voo-doo its gone!

I never had a whole crate go missing but what happens to me an awful lot is I drop some small part and it is gone forever. I think they at right there at my feet or below the chair but no, gone.

Back in the early 70's my brother threw out a garbage bag full of OLD baseball cards that my great uncle had given to me. He had started collecting when he was a boy and was going to throw them out but instead gave them to me. I was too young to know all but one the players, Babe Ruth. Pulled the 3 cards of his and still have them.

I misplaced, lost, gave away, ate, destroyed, consumed or magically vanished a Quantum Pcb...

I keeping thinking (for two years) that it will turn up.

now that hurts,

i'm building a set of bookshelves for my office right now. I've already lost 2 screwdrivers. I know they're probably in my office, instead of the garage where i'm working. Oh well, just typical though.
