Does your craigslist suck?

ANOTHER CRAIGSLIST WINNER!!!!!

Original Classic GALAGA Stand up Arcade Game. We paid over $1,200 for this machine at an Auction several years ago and have enjoyed having it and playing it every since. Works Great. All original Art Work. Hate to see it go but we redoing our game room and there will not be room for it when we are done. Priced to move quick at $750 obo.

Total Carnage Multi Arcade Video game - $3000

I have a fully operational arcade multi game that plays several thousand games, all in the same cabinet.

Blah, blah, blah.... all powered by MAME.

$3000 Cash and it's yours.

It tends to go in cycles around here. Not much for MAME machines, usually somebody wants $300 for a shitty JAMMA conversion. There are deals to be had, you just have to be on top of it.

I track all of the Ohio CL sites via RSS search feeds in google reader, and there is pretty constant activity. However, almost everything I've been interested in has been in Cinci, Dayton or Toledo, rarely in Columbus.

Damn that's funny.. I track the same city's via RSS search feeds as well.. Minus Toledo.. I'm in Cinci so I track Louisville, Lexington, Dayton and Indy. As you mentioned it's pretty constant. Don't even get me started on the Arcade Legends over priced over posted stuff here in Cinci..

yeah, most of the arcade legends stuff is way too high for my budget, though I did buy my Rampage from him. I just don't get how you keep the prices so high for months and months, versus dropping them to something more reasonable and actually selling the stuff.

Appleton-Oshkosh-FDL is rather inactive, but otherwise pretty good.

Regarding MAME machines:

http://www.craigslist.org/about/prohibited.items said:
Material that infringes copyright, including but not limited to software or other digital goods you are not authorized to sell, warez, bootlegs (without consent of the band).

You are NOT authorized to sell MAME, it's right there in the license. And without MAME, the machines play, well, nothing, so if they claim it doesn't come with MAME, they're making false claims one way or the other. Report those postings as prohibited.

I actually just did a search -- MAME machines are quite rare on my local CLs. I found a grand total of ONE, though I got a few hits from people saying "you could turn this machine into a MAME rig". Which I'm fine with.

OMG, now it's even funnier!! That Rampage was mine at one time.. He doesn't know jack about pinball machines and he had a nice T2 Pinball machine that I traded an MK2 and a Rampage for.. I think he still has my MK2 but you got my Rampage.. LOL.. Is the bottom right side of the control panel overlay worn off a bit.. about the size of a baseball maybe a little smaller? hehe

This year thus far has been the worst year I've seen since I started monitoring it a couple of years ago.

Check Toledo right now, there's a decent amount of games from a couple guys, mostly junk or overpriced, but maybe there's something you guys will want.

I think there are a lot of folks getting rid of games that bought them at a premium in the late 90's/early 2000's - Outside of CL, I've talked to a few people now that aren't collectors, don't know anything about the inside of their machine, but paid $850-$1000 for a DK or Pac-Man.

On an unrelated note, it really bothers me when peeps won't budge on price, but have a game sitting in a dank storage shed or in the back of a dirt-floor barn. I want to tell that, LOOK - this game is not going to appreciate in value in the near-future, and even if it did somehow gain more value, and was worth your asking price, by the time that day comes, there won't be anything left of this cab. I don't even want your 1942 in a rotty old painted pac-man cab for $300 - i just want you to understand the reality of your pile of shit.

I'm currently on a cheap Nintendo cocktail hunt.
