does your arcade/garcade help get your through the Winter?

I think that for anyone who, like me, has difficulty dealing with the cold Winter months, and the lack of sunlight, an arcade is about the best therapy out there. After all, you want your 'cade to be dark to show off the lights and attract modes, and at a time when going outside is the pits, you can't beat walking out into a lineup of classic games. And don't forget the fact that they all generate HEAT!

Does anyone else's arcade activities really take off once Fall and Winter kick in?

What's odd is that I'm just the opposite. Never really thought about it until you posted, but my 'arcade' is in the basement. In the winter it's pretty chilly down there, but it's really nice in the summer time, so I normally go down there to cool off, LOL.

Now that everything's finished down there we have heat, so this year may be different for sure, especially with some new additions down there :)

I can see your point though. Nothing like a game on a classic machine during a snow storm!

I hate winter and all that comes with it! And yep the arcade gets more love during those months mainly because there is generally shite to do outside.

Indeed I should move south, and planned to, that is, until I reconciled with my x wife.. :dontknow:

Sounds like you did the more important thing in my book (coughtildeathdouspartcough)

Yea.. I suppose..

Actually, my tentative plan now is to buy a place in lower NC or maybe Virginia, and spend a few of the nasty months there each year. Probably would help if we hit the lottery though!

:p

I definitely know how you feel since I also have a basement arcade. It's a bit chilly in the winter to the point that I sometimes don't go down stairs, but it's a great way to beat the winter blues too.

i would say so. especially when i'm up in my in-laws in aspen. if it's snowing out and too cold for fly fishing, i'll spend the afternoon playing their pins. at my house, it's about the same winter-summer.
