does this flyback look ok

i just pulled this sanyo do do a cap kit but there is a little brown ooze where i am pointing. does this mean anything? i discharged monitor several times didnt see no spark or noise... so am i safe working w/board now? any risk w the larger caps? thanks

Very difficult to tell as the pics are very fuzzy. Was the monitor working before you pulled the chassis? Quite frankly, If I was doing a recap/repair, I'd just change the fly anyway and not take that chance of it wiping out good parts you just installed.
 
yes monitor was working ecept wasnt getting full width of screen... had posted pics and was told foldover. other than that pic was fine
 
thank..sorry pics wernt coming out w flash and that was best could get holding light above. as far as shock risk....do i need to worry about anything else besides discharging tube again before re connecting?

So this part is OK unless it shows signs of cracks or damage? Asking more specifically, is this one of those parts you can just "eyeball" to see if it still has life left?

Sometimes.

Normally Sanyo / Sharp flys fail just like any other, with a crack or oozing. The oozing on one of these usually comes out of the top where the OP took the pics.
