Does the arson sales pitch actually work?

Nope. The guy's just an asshole or an idiot, or perhaps both.

That machine isn't worth anywhere near $1000. I've never understood the mentality behind "I'd rather burn it than sell it for what it's worth".

Yeah, sure... whatever buddy.

It's called bullshit. Only an idiot bigger than this guy would say,"Nope, I can't take $700, I would rather burn it and get nothing instead." I don't understand why people would think that would work either. If he is serious though, he might as well bust out the matches and lighter fluid, it ain't going anywhere at that price.

I don't doubt, that with patience, he could get that price. The are becoming harder to find. But the firewood comment is ridiculous. Quick sale mentality needs to be more flexible.

I think I'll email him in a while to request pics of it on fire.

Already did. You do it too, and see if either of us get replies. KI will be, I suppose, the next generation of collectors Major Havoc, but I don't care if he burns it or not.

He's just a jackass. I told him I'd be interested if the price was fair. He said he sold the motherboard to a KI for $500 alone. I answered back and I said that if he could get those prices then he should go for it, but that I wouldn't burn something because I priced an item out of the range where anybody would buy it.

His response...

"you know what now its $1,200"

I should try that gimmick with my house.

"If no one buys it for what I want, then I'm just going to burn it."

Hey that will work Sean. At least when you burn your house you'll get 5 to 8 years for arson. But at least that is something. LOL

If you don't get at least 10 years, then what are you gonna do?? Light yourself on fire? :)
