Does G1 Leakage cause no neck glow?

I have a Monitor with G1 leakage. On my rejuv the needle bounces all over the place when I test the g1 leakage, and I have tried all the tricks like putting it on it's face and tapping the neck.

My question is, I have 2 K7000 19" Chassis (one came off this monitor and the other I got from Oryk a while ago and never had a chance to use). I tried them both neither seem to light up the tube. I don't get that static sound of a monitor powering on.

My question is, will the G1 leakage cause this, or do I have 2 chassis to look at repairing? I have a new Tube I was gonna do a yoke swap on, but I wanted to make sure the chassis work first before going there.

Thanks,
Ed

No, the 6.3V coming off the flyback to the "heaters" is what causes the glow. Look at the schematic, and there will be three guns. Under the guns, there is a symbol that shows what two pins are on the neck board are the heaters. They may be marked H on the neckboard. Those pins are on the schematic.

Those two pins power the wires under the guns, and they will turn the wires in there red.

No, but that's a good point. I should check the numbers to see if they are the same and if not, swap them.

Thanks

The neck boards have the same numbers.

SO is it safe to say both chassis need fixing? The one looks like it's never been capped and a few caps are bulging. The one from Oryk I know was capped and has a new flyback and he said it worked before he shipped it and I take his word for it. Doesn't mean something didn't happen in shipping or sitting on my shelf for a year :).

Verify your monitor AC input voltage is not over 130vac and that you have a good ground connection to the dag wire.

Have you checked the B+ once the chassis are fully installed and powered up? It is very unusal for you to have no neck glow if the chassis are not in shutdown.

Ok, I will check those things. So I think this all answers my initial question. G1 Leakage would not cause the monitor to not power up.

I will do the suggests and report back. Thanks guys
