So I happened upon this NOS kit for a game called Drakton. I had never heard of it, so I did a little research and it appears to have been manufactured by a company called Epos in 1984.

KLOV doesn't have a ton of information on it and there are no pictures available. As far as I can tell, the kit that I have is for converting an original Donkey Kong machine into a Drakton (not sure why anyone would want to do that).

Does anyone here own a Drakton? Have you played one? Is it worth converting one of my DK boardsets over to play this for awhile?

At least I can take some good photos of the parts and submit them to KLOV for the Drakton page!

Thanks in advance.

Not to be a smart ass, but in 1984, the donkey kong rage was over and if you had one, it probably wasn't even earning enough to cover its electricity consumption anymore. hence, conversion kits! in 1984, when 75% of arcades were shutting down and laserdisc games weren't turning out to be the saviors they were hailed to be, conversion kits were a godsend.

I've played a ton of Drakton in MAME and really like the game but I seem to be in the minority. I never saw a Drakton BITD and would be in complete shock if I saw one today but I think it would be cool to have one. If I had a machine to put the kit into, I'd make you an offer.

If you weren't clear across the country, I'd sell you a Nintendo cabinet and the Drakton kit together. :)

Anyone else know anything more about this kit/game?

Has anyone ever seen a Drakton "in the wild"?
