Does anyone have redemption games?

My son has a simple Greyhound crane. It's a huge hit with kids when we have people over for parties.

I *highly* recommend one for a game room.

It's easy to stock 'em. Go buy things at the dollar store or if you go to Dave & Busters and play with their Eat & Play Combo you can come home with a few from their cranes. :D

I recently came across a Simpsons Kooky Carnival in the wild. Loved it and will hope to have it in my games room one day.

You say crane games work well, what about ticket games? As this is a ticket game would it be as good and can you keep stocking up the tickets at all?

The replay value on ticket and crane games is only so much, which is why I wont spend alot on them. But I consider both to be must haves one day.

I have two copy cat machines they play like simon and always give you a ball when you put in a quarter. My kids love them. I hope to pick up a crane in the near future as it is a a favorite when we go anywhere. I always keep my eye out for the redemption games because of there play value with the kids and myself. If they ever lose play value they are easy to pass along to someone else and get different ones.

Too bad you aren't closer to me, I have a few redemption games that I am trying to sell cheap.

I have a Dino Bonk (wacky gator with a dino theme) and it is always being played when I have people over. The adults seem to play it even more than the kids.

not sure what you mean by the never come around cheap? you can find them for $100 easily, pends what exact redemption you are looking for . they can be had from $100 - 20k or more. you have to be a bit more specific buddy.
redemption= any machine that gives something...prize or ticket or printout worth something.

Id be interested in ticket or prize given. Got a link to a redemption game for 100$ in michigan?

Wacky gator is awesome love whac a mole too Take up a lot of space though what games do you have for sale Encom?

I have a Coin Circus, Cyclone, Smokin Token, Home Run Hitter (project or for parts) and a couple of others that I'm forgetting right now.

I tried stocking the tickets for home use and it didn't go well. The kids will stand there and keep playing until it the game empties. Then you end up with thousands of tickets all over the house. Some of the games let you turn off the ticket dispenser. For the ones that don't you can buy a ticket dispenser emulator or tape the tickets into a loop

I have a Bromely Quarter Mile that I love. The board is bad and I am looking for a cheap replacement. A guy on epay has a board but he wants an arm and leg for a board that is AsIs.

That was my main concern on having a ticket machine in the house. I like the idea of taping the tickets into a loop but would like the machine to "pay" out something. Can you replace the tickets with anything at all?

Most of the games are looking for a pulse back from the ticket dispensers so they know that a ticket was actually dispensed. If they don't see the pulse they assume that there was a ticket jam and through an error. Some are more annoying then others. I have a godzilla wars Jr that repeats "out of tickets please call attendant" until you fix the jam.

Some of them let you adjust the ticket payout so you can set it to pay only a few tickets out but other games don't let you adjust them at all.

Benchmark seems to be the worst offender when it comes to annoying ticket errors.

Big Haul: *noise* *noise* CHECK TICKET CHECK TICKET *noise* *noise* CHECK TICKET CHECK TICKET *noise* *noise* CHECK TICKET....

Drill-O-Matic is pretty bad too, but what's even worse is "GET ATTENDANT GET ATTENDANT GET ATTENDANT GET ATTENDANT GET ATTENDANT"

We once had people leaving the building thinking there's a fire because our Monopoly coin pusher ran out of tickets. Not kidding. That siren is LOUD and Does. Not. Stop.

I agree with you on Benchmark games, Drill O Matic takes the voice prompts to a whole new level. From the moment you put a quarter into to it till the game is over, its nagging you. 50 cent play, press start to begin, move the joystick to play. I swear people drop a single quarter in and walk away from it just so it will sit there and annoy people for hours.

We've got a Whac-A-Mole. I need to clean up the air compressor and such before I plug it in though. It's sat on it's side for about 4 years. Hopefully, I can get it running in a couple of weeks.

Like anything in a collection it's obviously dictated by your personal taste. Yes they are repetitive and have little depth, but then again they're ARE redemption pieces.

I've found that if you're in the right place and at the right time they can be had for CHEAP (most often CL for me). They do tend to be well used at this point and often need a little TLC along with some mechanical repair (not unlike an un-shopped Pinball machine needing flippers and such to be rebuilt).

I think many are often overlooked because of their themes and/or the childish humor. Personally I enjoy playing the ones that require some skill to play and a bit more skill to win.

Hoop it Up ($125 local equipment auction), Hill Climber ($50 local eBay), and Hungry Hungry Hippos ($150 really a right place/right time deal) are three that I sought out for my collection and enjoy challenging family and friends to a game on them.

When I picked up Hill Climber from the eBay seller he made a comment regarding the cheap auction ending price saying that "Who would have this game on their "list" anyway?" I still don't think he believed me when I said that I did…

How reliable are redemption games? When I get space one of these days I would love to have a skee ball, UB QB football, and one of them moving basketball hoops. I think its called street fever? Anyone have any experience with these?

In my experience, they have a far worse build quality than most video machines. It's ALWAYS the redemption pieces that give me trouble at work.
