Does anyone have experience with this PANDUIT tool?

PANCON/PANDUIT Gun. It currently has the CTD-100F head on it. I would like to know how to switch to the CTD-156F head? I searched the internet for instructions but no luck. I thought you just give it a slight twist and pull it off but that doesnt seem to work and I do not want to break it by doing it wrong. Thank you.

horrible connectors with many problems. i haven't seen one of those in alot of years but don't you remove the screw and then twist it on and off.

Turn the head in the direction of the 'unlock' arrow. You should then be able to pop the head off.

The big thing to remember with these is the connectors are available for different wire gauges. For example, part number CE100F24-5 is a 5 pin closed end connector with .1" spacing using 24 gauge wire. Using the wrong gauge will either break the individual wire strands if too big or not cut through the insulation properly if too small.

Thanks guys. I was able to remove it. It was just like you said. I know MOLEX connectors are better but does anyone ever just replace existing IDC connectors anymore when they need replacing? Or should we just avoid IDC all together. Thanks

everyone replaces IDC with molex if they want longer lasting quality and if they want the best they replace with molex and trifurcon pins. do things once and don't worry about it again which is cheaper in the long run and gives you more time to play the game BUT if you truly like redoing games over and over then i suggest keep buying fixer uppers and bringing them back to life instead of refixing the same game over and over.

Yep, what he said.

IDC connectors suck. Throw that gun away and buy a stash of trifurcon clips and molex connectors.

Thanks for all the input guys. I agree on MOLEX CONNECTORS and TRIFURCON clips all the way. And will always try and go that route. I wont throw the IDC gun in the trash because in a pinch (pun intended) it may come in handy. You never know with all this old stuff we encounter.
