Does anyone have a pic of where the yoke plugs into a G07-CBO?

I tested and replaced one of the vertical transistors and when I fired it back up I had no neck glow and then a little smoke started coming from somewhere. The pictures I took don't really show it and I think I may have plugged it in backwards

Hopefully I didn't screw up anything too bad...

Hmmm. I didn't try it before I did the work, I was told it was in vertical collapse. One of the transistors on the big heat syncs tested bad so I put in one from a parts board that tested good. A small amount of smoke definitely came from somewhere.

Could something else have made that transistor go bad and the smoke I saw was from that same one going bad again?

I'm not suggesting you do this:

but I would plug that bitch back in and see where the smoke is coming from. Again, I'm not suggesting you do this.

Are you currently getting no picture?

How about a b+ measurement?

And yes almost impossible to plug in backwards.

Though a buddy of mine figure out how to plug the 2-15 pin connectors on a tron power board backwards. So anything is possible I suppose.

No picture, no neck glow

I vaguely remember warmth coming from somewhere (yoke maybe?) different from the smoke, but I may be wrong...

I'll plug it up again and see what I get...

2 common areas of burning/smoke on g07's:

1. R908, that sucker burns up a lot for some strange reason!

2. The FBT burns up if adjusting the HOR FREQ too low/high
