Does anyone else sell the AVG?

Ah... yeah, I remember reading you got the AS one w/ a broken pin and sent it back. I definitely would have just replaced the pin myself :/ .

BTW, I really like your restoration pages... it's really cool to see step by step everything you go through, even the dead ends. I was checking out your Tron page the other day while working on mine.

Stop rubbing that salt. It hurts. It's been hurting since June 26th. Do I need to buy two of everything just to make sure I get a good one?
I don't have any access to parts around here. So either hunt for a pin that'll fit and wait a month for that pin to arrive or just send back the product and wait a month to get it back hopefully with maybe some --foam or something around the legs? I've ordered IC's before and I've never had them just ship in a static bag. Usually there's something there to maybe say, gee - protect the pins from getting bent? But I digress - there I go. It's all your fault.
Thanks. The site helps me alot too, when I get stuck or -ehm waiting on parts for weeks and months, I can move on to another project. Lets see - I left off at missile command where? Oh yea. Now I remember, kind of thing. Or even when someone asks me if I had replaced big blue or tried this or that I can refer back through the project and double check myself.

ZVG and Copperbox were the last 2 suppliers

They ran out a few years ago, I scored one of the last few from ZVG, and an Amplifone / 6100 harness

Every year, 1 or 2 show up on KLOV, and every few years 1 shows up on eBay

Good luck, might be better to get a designated Vector Cab

(Oh, I just realized you have a sega)

:)

I think Zinfer means the AVG Zektor.

Elektronforge sell the AVG Chips for the Vector PCBs, not the larger Zektor AVG PCBs for mame

:)

I believe that'd be the ZVG, not AVG ;) .

But yeah... I know what you mean about the padding around the legs. I thought the same thing when I got mine... luckily I ordered enough other stuff that the whole box was filled with lots of packing, so they survived. I did order two though... I always order two of anything that I need one of ;) .

Lol, normally I do the same thing, but at 35$ a pop I don't currently have another that uses the AVG. With Big Blues I can see buying more than one at a time as well as normal use IC's and transistors.
I'd really like to check the clock while I'm waiting on that chip though and I can't seem to get a response to my question of how to test the Clock circuit. I looked it up, did a couple google searches on Space duel clock circuit, even gravitar but maybe I needed to hang with the search longer. I figured it'd be something to do with Space Duel while waiting on the AVG. ATM, I've about 5 other projects in the garage I've turned attention to in the mean-time. One way or the other I'd like to rule out the AVG. What is this ZVG you refer to?
And as far as Alex goes. I don't know, he seems rather tied up atm and has been for some time so I haven't bothered my neighbor to the north much. He's a great resource - when he's available for work. If I was going to bother him for an AVG, I'd just as soon bring the entire board up and ask him to fix the bloody thing. Last I checked however, he wants everything sent up rather than in-house service.
That was really cool when he offered that. Seeing him diagnose and repair is something of wonder. Just amazing how quickly he's able to find the the source of the problem.

ZVG is the Zektor Vector Generator ( http://www.zektor.com/zvg/index.html ), which the others in the thread were referring to, while confusing the name with an AVG. They're no longer available new from the MFG.

BTW, I see you're in Vegas... are you planning on going to CGE ( http://www.cgexpo.com/ ) in a couple weeks? I'll be out there for it... it'd be nice to meet up with a few KLOVers if anyone's gonna be there. It's more geared toward classic video games in general (a lot of consoles), but has a lot of arcades as well.
