Does anyone else here do this, or am I just weird?

My games are all of the not in demand. I'm still proud of my game room and my worshop. Yes, I also fire them up just for the fun of it and scream at my kids to leave me alone. You just imaging that you use to rush to little arcades to play games. Now, you have your own. One place I can let all my stress and worries in limbo while I play the games.

I even stared at my Multi-Williams for ages when I finally got a bezel for it that I liked - it kind of made it complete as it only had a proper CP and Marquee before that - the bezel joined everything up and just made it look finished and pretty.:)

Ahhh, the joys of living in CA.:p

Yep, 108 yesterday, 105 outside right now...

But to get back to the thread, yeah, I do the same thing. Sometimes I sit and just look at my cabs and remember how much work I did on them, or how much work I NEED to do on them...

I totally understand. I spent over an hour adjusting the volume and turning on and off the attract volume sounds. I even shuffled a few games around to "balance things out". After I was all done, I just stood there and stared at the games for a while. I love it and it reminds me of happy place when I was younger.

I don't think it's that uncommon, no. I love just looking at my games all together (on or off). Nothing beats a room full of beautiful restored 80s Atari classics. They're like works of art.

I turn them on just to have them on in the background . It makes the vibe of the room so much better .

Good gameplay and an ugly cab don't get you into the top 20 most collected games.

The really popular games tend to be beautiful so I don't think going down into your art gallery and looking around is weird at all.

I do this more than I play them. Everytime I see them it takes me right back to Shakey's Pizza and the glory days of arcades. It's an escape really. And I long ago stopped worrying about the funny looks that some people give me. Either you were there and know how cool it is to have a room full of these games or you weren't there and have no idea what you missed out on. Sometimes at night I just turn them all on and sit and stare. Ok, yeah, that's a little weird, but oh well...

Now if only they made "old video game" air fresheners. - y'know the old particle board and electronics smell. "Dude your car totally smells like Joust!" :p:D

I do that once in a while. I'll just kind of stand dead center in there and look around for a bit and take it in. I go in there a lot now because my son (2 months old) finds the pinball machines to be very soothing. Funny enough, I do too.

You need to pump in some artificial sound as well as a playlist of some early 80's songs!

You could top it off by blowing cigerette smoke throughout the room and adding a change machine just to hear the machine run and the coins dropping into the bowl!

That's a good point. What I miss in part is the ambiance of hearing a bunch of the classics being played, the din around the arcade as you're walking through it and all the familiar noises are bouncing around you in space. That's a difficult thing to come by nowadays, until you host an arcade party :)

I know my gameroom is no where as nice as some peoples here, and not everyone would like my game selection. But I catch myself more recently just going downstairs to the gameroom and just looking around. Not even playing anything, just looking at the collection. Sometimes I even cut the games on just to look at them all on. I know if my wife caught me doing it, I would just get alot of weird looks.

I still need to do some painting and new carpet at one point, but I have everything spaced out where you can see art and looks nice (to me at least)

We had our babyshower at the house yesterday. I got stuck babysitting and had all the kids in the basement. it was fun watching them all run around and play games. They mainly wanted to play the crane machine the most.

This is freakin hilarious. I find my self just standing down there, gazing at my games. Never turning them on. It is weird and I have actually thought to myself, "Damn, this is weird I am just gazing at them, not turning them on. Sometimes I even step up to them, while they are turned off and pretend to play them. I know, my games have me pussy whipped :)

Yes... I do that too. Just look around and think back to my childhood days of hanging out at the arcade in the mall on friday and saturday nights and having a great time.

I did that a lot when I had my game room.

Do you still have that Circus Charlie? I may have asked you that before, but can't remember :)
