Air exchange is good. That said, the freakin' supercharged beasts that Sega seems to use for all their games over the years (they must have a huge stock of 150db 50,000 RPM 500CFM 120v fans or something) are most assuredly "overkill".
I swear they seem damn powerful enough to move the cabinet itself.
Every SEGA fan I get immediately gets replaced with a much quieter model. Radioshack (of all places) actually has a nice, quiet 120v fan... but you had to pay the Radioshack premium price. Just about ANY 120V fan you get is going to be an improvement. You could also replace the fan with a 12v model and run power to the switcher...
Really... you're good with just about any fan. Even the lowest rated CFM. There's what, 25 cubic feet of space in a cab? (just a guess)... a 25cfm fan would exchange the air once a minute... that Sega fan is probaby doing so every 10-15 seconds. Like I said... WAAAAAAY overkill.
