So this post is a 2 parter :)

First to vent about Docent Electronics, if any of you buy from them. I placed a fairly substantial order with Docent on May 30 and paid the same day. A week later, I followed up to see where the order was, and I was presented with a "Oh... we did not get notification from PayPal to ship it". I ask f they could expedite the order now that it's been sitting and they said no. 5 minutes later I received a order cancellation and refund for my order, which I did not ask for.

I sent my criticism, that this is not the first order I had an issue with and if this becomes a normal thing I will need to find another distributor and that blaming PayPal is not a valid business excuse, nor is it my problem. If you need to manually follow up on your outstanding orders then you do what needs to get done to assist your customer base.

So I just got off the phone, well hung up on by Docent asking why this was cancelled and can we process another order. He told me he did not like the criticism and that he did not need my business and hung up the phone on me, all along continuing to blame and complain about PayPal.

So I have a customers machine, Gottlieb Close Encounters (SS) that I need the Driver Board connectors for (A3-J2, J3, J4 & J5) and cannot find them from anyone else, this is the second part of my rant :). Who else sells these edge connectors besides the ever friendly Docent because he will no longer process any order from me.
 
Sounds like the same problem I'm having with Newark. I ordered on the 26th of May, still hasn't shipped. I was told they'd be shipped on the 6th of June, still nothing. I just got off the phone with them again and she claimed it's getting shipped this afternoon. hopefully...
 
Yes Eric was the one that hung up on me. I did not call him names or yell or scream, just provided criticism that if you know your having issues with PayPal you should follow up with orders and not just blame Paypal and sit and do nothing until PayPal tells you.

So even better now, I received an email from them stating... "Eric told me about your call and YOUR rudeness. Please take your business elsewhere. Your email is blocked now"

Very professional approach to this matter.

I already have the connectors I need on order from another company but on a crusade now to make sure everyone knows how unprofessional Docent is.
 
This isn't the first time I've heard of these types of shenanigans from Docent. This kind of Soup Nazi behavior is all too prevalent in the niche repair market.

Sorry to hear about your shitty transaction. FWIW, I'll share with others when I can.
 
Eric is a angry man that thinks he is Midas. For what is disclosed as a Million dollar a year business he need to take some customer service training and anger management.

Ha wow, reminds me of the customer service I got with Turbo Zone Direct years back. Bought a game from them for 10$. They charged the card when the game was not even in stock. I ask about a refund or if I can get another game and dude basically says "How dare you bother me over a holiday weekend! Here's your refund! Never come back!" Whatever..
 
Thank you, I order a bunch of connectors from them yesterday.

I tried to have my friend order connectors from Docent and apparently they figured out based on what he was ordering that it was for me and refused his order. This company need to be stopped, we are all just trying to fix machines as a hobby and this guy thinks he is the Connector Nazi.
 
wow, another jerk. I'll be sure not to order anything from this guy.
