Do you tell your "significant other" when you're getting games?

I haven't told my wife about my most recent two purchases (NEO GEO and Timber), but I haven't gone to pick them up yet either so I have time. She won't be pissed at the games, just mostly pissed that I have to drive to Wisconsin for the Timber.

Short answer is no. I have found that the more games I have the less she notices when a new one arrives. Sometimes have to move them in under the cover of darkness, but the tough part is that my daughter usually rats me out.

Yeah....my 7 year old is way harder to fool than my wife!

Hopefully this isn't a thread jack. The topic is related. What's the largest thing you've brought home without telling the significant other ever or until some time later? :)

I am about to pick up a trailer with about 60 control panels in it- trailer came with. We don't even have a hitch on the van, but we will soon! I let her know this one was coming home a couple of days ago, but mainly so I can take it to an upcoming pinball show and hopefully bring home a couple games!

She used to care, but has pretty much given up. I also do a lot more laundry now, so that she does not have to come downstairs!

True dat- mine is 5 and sharp as a tack.

Nice tracks by the way Andy- loving those 80s sounds.

and my wife knows that she doesnt need to know....because my kid WILL tell her." Hey Mom guess what I played today......".
I am not trying to raise a kid that keeps secrets from either of us so I can't tell him "don't tell your mom".

I have to own up to it every time! It drives me crazy! ;)

so your the one who bought the captains trailer full of control panels.

I brought a John Deere 850 tractor home. It took my wife 3 months before she asked how that got behind the barn! I told her it just sprouted up. LOL!

Since I am the "Significant Other" I only have 2 maybe 5 games
Depends which one you ask who's is who's.

I believe you should support you Partner in crime in their passion/ hobby/ career
If you Love them you want them happy.
If I have to move Games and deal with overspray on my new car, oh well as long as he is happy.
I have given up the Lower part of the house
I just wanted a parking space in the 3 car garage

But I would also expect the same support for my passion/ hobby/ career
If you don't support your wife and she is not happy
You won't be either.

I did this with at least 3 motocross bikes. Wife couldn't tell 'em apart. LOL

I find this thread fairly hilarious given that an arcade cabinet is one of the physically largest things you can try to hide. The 'ole elephant in the room. We're usually buying the games together, especially because my Outback is the game hauler, although when I go away on business trips I occassionally (like last weekend with our new Carnival cab) come home to find a new surprise. Just give your wife (or husband, for those token gals out there) a beer and try to convince her that your ex was a great Centipede player, and explain how cool it would be if she beat said ex's score. Even if its not true, it ignites the competitive spirit!

Yup, was out there getting some other parts and saw it before I bid. Some nice CPs in there, and I guess I could use a trailer for something or things...........I think it will fit 2-3 games.

I always inform the wife, let her know. As long as I'm not sapping our main bank account its all ok.

Lately I've been converting some other hobbies into Arcade related purchases, I just used the bulk towards a pin and gave 300.00 back to the house account, can't complain about that!

And she has been totally supportive of the hobby!

Did you by chance end up getting the complete 6100 with 2 extra crt's that he had listed?

This question reminds me of the jokes:

What do you tell a woman with two black eyes?

Nothing you already told her twice.

A woman went to the bar with a black eye.
" How'd ya get that?" asked the bartender.
" From my husband," she replied.
" But I thought he was out of town?" he asked.
" So did I!" she said.

My wife doesn't work, I work and handle paying all of the bill's, I purchase what I think I can deal with, wife nod's head in support of seeing any said game I drag home...that's about how it works, and she has never suffered with a black eye in 24 yrs of marriage. :D

Hey I just thought of something. If we post "on here" that we are buying a new game/s, does that count as telling our wives? :p Not our fault if they don't read these fourms right.
