Do You Stockpile PCBs for your games? So if your main boardset goes bad you put in your spare boardset and fix the bad boards?

I'm stockpiling pcbs for my Stargate Defender and Defender. Got two complete boardsets for Stargate, but 3 main pcbs. Defender - extra sound and interface board...

All I got is 3 games, and now I bought enough gear to diagnose and fix my own pcbs!

funny you ask that question cause i was just thinking about that, but i was thinking also who has USED those extra boards??? I have at least 1 extra set for all my games. There are only 2 games that i dont have extra boards for, discs of tron and journey. Everything else i have i got extra of.. Now how many of those have i used and got another? None all my original boards are still working..lol

I now have more board sets than cabs

Boardsets:
Pole Postion - WORKING!!!!
Circus Charlie - Working!!!
Tiger Heli -Working, but who gives a shit.
Punch out - Working

Cabs:
Holosseum - Working. Again who gives a shit? Worthless game, but the cab is dope!!
PC10 - has a tetris in it. I'm working on putting that Punch Out board in it. It was Jamma'd
Pole Postion - Needs major restore

yeah. somewhat, though. i have a complete set of spare mcr boards with satan's hollow roms, 1 or 2 spare 90412's, and a spare mcr2 amp board.

some games yes but most no. Actually for the couple that I do have multiples of it's been more of a thing where I first acquired a non working or partially working board. Then I eventually got a fully working board. So the non working or partially working boards will eventually be repaired and likely sold. Truthfully most boards can be repaired for the cost of a second board or less so it's usually more cost effective to fix many boards than buy multiples. There are some exceptions of course.

Yes, I have backups for every cabinet I currently own:

Killer Instinct
Wizard of Wor
Gorf
OutRun

None for my Twilight Zone pin though.

I try to keep a extra working spare board for all of my games. That way if the game goes down during a party or at a inconvient time, you can just plug the other PCB in. How many times have I used ANY of my spare PCB's...NEVER. I think I just like knowing that they are there...just in case.

I had an extra set for my TRON that I kept for a year, and never used it. I became worried it would be more in harm's way by sitting in my garcade (always afraid I was going to damage them when moving stuff around), plus I needed the cash for another game so, I sold them this year to another KLOVer. It ended up bringing HIS TRON back to life so, the sacrifice was worthwhile.

End of Line........... ;)

I don't stockpile, but I'll keep them if I can't sell them for what I want. Some boards there is no demand or no value. I keep them.

I'm not that person who has an addiction of needing to own it all.

Nope I did at one time but never needed the spares and if the PCB breaks that's in the game fixing it is part of the hobby so another challenge awaits.

I've got two working Warlords PCBs for my cocktail, so that I can swap `em out at parties if one goes kaput.
